A sneak peek at the next update!
Dropping in to give you a quick preview of some of the changes and updates coming in the Steam demo!
Before I get started, I want to say thank you for all the comments, feedback, and support so far! I have gotten a lot of good ideas and you have identified a few bugs, so, thank you! If you have ideas or comments about the game, the best way to get in contact with me is through Discord or the in-game feedback form.
Anyway, on to the updates!
New Chickens to Slay!
I've been meaning to rework the bosses in the game for a while. In some cases, the bosses were difficult to distinguish from a normal enemy. They were the same size as an elite and lacked any distinguishing features aside from the icon on the map.
In the next update, I'm reworking all of the bosses with new, more complex sprites, more elaborate animations, and more. Featured above is a new boss that you will encounter in Act 1, but every area will feature new bosses and enemies.
The old enemies won't be gone, though: they've just been demoted. Expect to see your old nemesis on the battlefield once again.
New Locations to Explore!
On top of the new enemies, the next update will feature two new locations! You'll be able to explore:
- Ashen Roost
- Mudwing Marsh
No pictures for now, but these areas will be as varied and diverse as all the others that you have seen so far. They'll also feature some unique encounters for you to come across!
New... Equipment?
You heard me!
I'm adding an entirely new mechanic to the game. In this update, you'll be able to collect weapons as a drop from bosses or elites, and equip them to apply a new effect on battles, adding bonuses or multipliers to your score. The weapons also have their own animations, which will vary depending on what you equip.

I'm probably going to leave a browser build on Itch and have the downloadable demo on Steam - there are some features I can't add to web builds (even loading screens!), but I haven't made a firm decision yet!
